Ingol Rangers reach the Charter Mark

Congratulations to premier division outfit Ingol Rangers FC who have become the 32nd club from this league to achieve the coveted FA Charter Standard status.

The club was founded by staunch Glasgow Rangers fan and Ingol resident Jock Wilson in 1973 and they adopted the suffix Rangers plus the blue and white colours of the Glasgow giants.

It is fair to say that their impact on the league has been significant over the past 37 years. Champions of division 5 in their first season (1974) and champions of division 4 twelve months later, they were promoted each successive season until they reach the premier division in 1979 and have remained at the top table for the past 31 seasons.

Their most successful season was 2003-04 when under the management of Tony Hesketh they won the premier division title and the LFA Sunday Trophy.

The clubs’ honours list reads;

•LFA Trophy Winners 2003-2004
•3 Premier Division titles
•9 Premier Division runners up
•Challenge Cup winners 3 times
•Challenge Cup runners up 5 times
•Champions cup runners up in 1977-78
Club chairman Dave Smithson is grateful for the help and co-operation received from both the League and the LFA and he is confident that club will have a major role to play in the League for years to come.
